how to plan a wedding in 6 months flat: week 10
- book valet (if necessary/required)
- book security
- begin designing invitations: Minted has some great resources for these… even some free ones! Also begin brainstorming your table number cards and menus as you design!
- manicure trial: This week was New Years Eve, and we had our engagement video shoot (see below), so I decided it was a great week to do a manicure trial for the wedding. There’s a cute nail place right down the street from me where I thought it would be fun to take my bridesmaids the day before the wedding. I wanted to make sure I liked the color (sometimes you really can’t tell unless it’s on your nails) and also the woman who did them. I decided to go with a gel manicure so that I don’t have to worry about them chipping on my honeymoon. I went with OPI Mod About You – it’s the perfect pale pink. Sweet Lisa did a wonderful job. Now I just have to wait another 100+ days for the real deal! (I rarely get my nails done!)
- engagement video shoot
Our engagement video shoot was my favorite thing we did this week. You are probably thinking, “What is that?” So was I. But when I thought about it… a video retelling of your love story and it’s beginning? What better way to capture our love story while it is so fresh and be able to go back and watch it throughout the next sixty years of our lives?
I can only imagine when things get tough down the road, when we are “covered in baby spit up years from now” as I told Clay the other day, it will be so neat to press play and relive our love story and remember just why we fell in love.
We did our interview portion up at the church where we met. They interviewed us separately, so we have no idea what each other said. We will be filming a portion on the beach together next weekend (the interviews took a bit longer than expected, so we ran out of time for it this week). I can’t wait to see the magic that our videographer creates with it all.
