“Mirror mirror. Mirror on the wall. Tellin’ those lies. Pointin’ out your flaws. That isn’t who you are…”
These words For King and Country sing couldn’t be more true for where I once was — and where you may find yourself today — believing lies from the Enemy that our worth is found in our:
- weight
- success
- relationship status.
I endured a long road of singleness. It became a breeding ground for doubts. I often battled feeling unloved, neglected, and rejected.
It took me a long time to understand the Truth — that I am God’s beloved. His bride.
And you are, too. {Even if you’re a guy!}
Revelation 21 tells us what’s to come at the end of this life as we know it — that we will be united with Christ, our Bridegroom, once and for all. That He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. And that we will live fully united and in perfect relationship with Him for all eternity.
1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
Sometimes in life it’s difficult to see the bigger picture, and even knowing this truth we can never even fathom just how much God loves us or exactly how He sees us.
But even so, try looking at yourself through His eyes today. It’s a wider lens with a greater perspective. After all, He’s telling the greatest love story ever told. With the happiest ending of them all.
This is the Truth of the hope that we have. Let it wash over you and fill you with bold confidence today that this is how your God sees you–truly and fully–and that one day you’ll see it when you see Him face to face…
“I see you dressed in white, every wrong made right. Oh, so priceless.” For King and Country, Priceless
