What does it take to turn your dreams into reality? To make your vision into actuality?
There are so many dreams that run through the streets of my mind – both when I’m awake and asleep. I am haunted by visions of stories I want to tell – movies I want to make, books I want to write – and visions of actual visions I want to share with others. Visions of ministry. Visions I want to put into motion.
One vision I had lately was to revamp my blog. It was time for a change. A fresh start. A clean slate.
I knew what I wanted it to look like. But I had no idea how to make it happen. Don’t we often encounter that with most dreams and visions in our lives? I know I do.
Getting a book published, a film produced, or *fill in the blank with your own occupation* can seem daunting. This song just came to mind called Never Be Daunted. In it Jaymay sings:
“What are you so afraid of? Why are you feeling scared? What’s the worst that’s gonna happen?”
I think God wants us to never be daunted. I think He wants to help bring our dreams and visions that are within His purpose and His will to fruition. And if there’s anything I’ve learned within the past few months, it’s that He’ll do it.
When God gives us vision, passion, and direction – when He opens a door our soul to walk through – He’s going to delivery us safely to the other side of that door.
I saw it with the film I believe He was leading me to create this summer. And I see it right here on the pages of this blog.
I had no idea how to turn my sloop sketch into a shiny site. But God made a way – one step at a time.
“And I know my God made a way for me; we’re gonna be alright.” – Lincoln Brewster, Salvation is Here
Maybe the dreams or vision you have isn’t to create something necessarily huge or spectacular. Maybe it’s something small like learning to cook a meal. Or maybe it’s something that seems huge like being healed from a chronic illness.
I’m convicted even as I write these words, having been daunted by my own health lately. But let those three words ring true, in my mind and in yours.
Never be daunted.
Let us never be daunted by limitations we feel when with our God there are no limits. Let us never be daunted by dreams that seem impossible when with our God all things are possible. And let us never be daunted by lies of “I can’t” or “I’m not” when with our God we know the most assures truth that with all things according to His plan He says “I can” and “I am.”
