rewriting your story of health and healing

As a child, I had allergies and was put on zyrtec every day for fifteen years. It depleted my immune system and compromised my digestive system.

As a teenager, I watched a best friend pass away from cancer. I began experiencing acid reflux and was put on Prilosec every day for four years. It further depleted my immune system and further compromised my digestive system.

As an adult, I experienced chronic back pain and stomach issues which sent me on a unending trail, chasing an elusive solution for my pain.

It wasn’t until I began to treat the cause of the symptoms as opposed to the symptoms themselves that I finally began a journey on a path to healing.

Do you feel like your health has been compromised? Like aspects of your health have been taken from you?

I have been there, friend. I have grieved the loss. But God did something very creative and beautiful with my journey—He began to heal that which had been broken, to repair that which had been depleted, and to restore that which had been taken.

And He can do the same for you.

the new stone tablets

In Exodus, after God gives Moses the Ten Commandments written on stone tablets, Moses heads back down the mountain to find the Israelite people have constructed false gods and are worshiping them. In anger, he throws the stone tablets to the ground. They crack and they break.

And you know what God does? He chooses to fix them, to restore them, to rewrite those very sacred words of His again on a new stone tablet.

Our God is a God who restores. Our God is a God of second chances. As He tells Moses in Exodus 34:6, “Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.” And yet in the very next verse He addresses the consequences that result from sin and wrongdoing.

There are very real consequences as a result of the Fall and much brokenness in the world with which we have to life. However, there are so many lies that the Enemy longs for us to believe. And I have seen the way my suffering health has caused my faith to suffer. It’s no secret Satan delights greatly in that.

But our God is a God who longs to replace lies with truth. As stated in the above mentioned verse, He is rich in just that–truth.

What lies have you been told by the broken system of our western medicine? Our God longs to replace those lies with the truth. What consequences are you dealing with as a result of false hope from failing solutions? Our God longs to restore your body, to repair your heart, and to mend your spirit.

Where there are consequences, His compassion abounds.

rewriting your story of health and healing

In John 10:10 God states His desire for us to have life, and to have it to the full. He makes this statement through His very Son, whom He sent that we would have just that–life to the full. God so loved us He made the ultimate sacrifice of that very beloved Son, because we, too are His beloved.

Friend, are you ready to take hold of the fullness of life that God has made available to you? Are you ready to replace that which has been broken in your life and in your health? What are you waiting for?

There is no better time than a new year to reset and restart, to allow God to begin to rewrite your story–or rather to begin to write a different ending.

I thought the ending of my story of health {or lack thereof} was a life of over-the-counter medicines, and even prescription medicine. My health and anxiety had gotten so bad I thought I might never see the light in the darkness. But God is faithful and He brought many things and people to act as gifts in my life that would be restoring agents of change for me. The main thing that stands out among those very gifts? Essential oils. Young Living, to be exact.

tools for the journey

Young Living not only has oils to help with everything from physical pain to emotional support, they have all natural, chemical-free products to clean your home and to care for your body—lotions, soaps, makeup, skincare, dental care, detergent, dish soap and more.

As it turns out the chemicals in the dorms and apartments I moved into as an adult were a forceful attack on my endocrine and nervous system. Since discovering these tools from Young Living, I have experienced a fierce combating of all that we encounter on a day-to-day basis that competes with our immune system.

Instead of feeling like a victim to all that has been taken from me, I now feel empowered with support and radiant with joy from the transformation that has overtaken my life.

After Moses met with God up on that mountain, his face shone, radiant. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “We all, with unveiled faces, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory…” And this creative God has given us every tool we need to do so—from His Word to feed our spirit, to the plants He has given us back in Genesis 1 to provide and sustain life. Turns out these very plants have {most} everything we need for health and healing. {I say most because of course there are circumstances where we need western medicine, surgeries, etc.}

Are you ready to shine?

Are you ready to life a life with an unveiled face?

Are you ready to take hold of the very tools God gave man for the fullness of life as He designed?

We may have been taken from—our health compromised by environmental toxins, household cleaning chemicals, and medicines that treat symptoms over causes, but we love and serve a God who restore all that has been broken—who has the power and ability and willingness to do so, and who equips us with all that we need to take hold of this life and life to the full.

Are you ready to offer all that has been broken back to Him? Are you ready to receive in exchange His hope and the very tools He has created? Are you ready to receive health, healing, and the glorious byproduct of increased happiness?

What are you waiting for?!
